I went to see G.I.Joe last night in an advance screening. (The image to the left is a picture of the ticket to the free show, courtesy of a local radio station.) I was also able to get tickets for Tammy, Tina, Jerry, Russell, Thed, Jonathan, and LaSher.
In short...the movie was really much better than I expected.
The theater was pretty packed; I was glad that all of us managed to get there relatively early. I was there at 5:40, as soon as I left work. Thed and jonathan got there around 6, and Russell, Tina, and Tammy got there at 6:30. LaSher and Jerry were running a little late, but fortunately for them, we're cool enough to save them spots in line and seats in the theater.... :)
Back to the movie. It started off kind of slow, but it actually picked up speed rather rapidly. The action was really frenetic, with Ray Park's Snake Eyes being one of the major attractions. I was also digging the film's portrayal of Scarlett and even Ripcord. I thought that Channing Tatum was mis-cast as Duke, though. Sienna Miller's Baroness was smoking hot. She looked better as a brunette than as a blond, incidentally.
Think I'll pay to see that again this weekend.
And to think that this is my first post in this blog. Yo Joe!
